Understand the difference between Goals and Vision

It is key to understand the difference between goals and vision. You should NOT have massive goals. You should have a massive vision within your circle of competence.
Sam Walton vowed to remake the retail industry in the vision of his radical cost-cutting philosophy.
Mark Zuckerberg has a mission to give people the power to share and make the world more open and connected.
Elon Musk wants to change the course of humanity through multi-planetary life. These are their massive visions. Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others. You must have a massive vision. Something that pulls you and continues to generate curiosity. Along with that vision, you must have REALISTIC goals. Goals are predictable and finite. What you can predict is what you do today. Set predictable and measurable goals aiming in the direct of making that vision a reality. Goals are action steps (WORK) you can take today, that lead to progress towards the grand massive vision. Focus on the daily action steps. As the saying goes, “Rome wasn't built in a day,” Goals (predictable and calculated) should be realistically attainable. Crystallize your goals. Make a plan for achieving them and set yourself a deadline. Then, with supreme confidence, determination and disregard for obstacles and other people's criticisms, work your ass off and carry out your plan.
